VR Resist: Safety

Read this manual to ensure you use the VR Resist Safely
and with it's intended use

BEFORE WE BEGIN

WARNING: To reduce the risk of serious injury, please read all of the precautions and instructions in this manual before using the VR RESIST. Quell Inc. and its subsidiaries assume no responsibility for personal injury or property damage sustained by or through the use of this product.

  1. Consult your physician before beginning any exercise
    program. This is especially important for people over the age of 35, people with pre-existing health issues, or people who are pregnant.
  2. Use the VR RESIST only as described in this manual.
  3. It is the responsibility of the owner to ensure that all users of the VR RESIST are adequately informed of all precautions.


1.1 DISCLAIMER NOTICE

  • In order to use the VR RESIST you must read, acknowledge and accept this disclaimer notice and the accompanying manual / safety instructions provided by Quell Inc. (“we” or “us”). By using the product, you confirm that you are over the age of 18 years and that you are in good physical health and are fit to use the VR RESIST. If you are under the age of 18, you must not use the VR RESIST unless your parent or legal guardian has read the above and agreed to your use. If you do not agree, you must not use the VR RESIST.
  • Using the VR RESIST is physically challenging and therefore carries risks that we cannot entirely eliminate. These include the risk of personal injury, such as exacerbation of existing health conditions, increased heart rate, heart palpitations, heart attacks, dehydration, exhaustion, fainting, physical discomfort, breathing difficulties ,surface injuries, muscle injuries, and joint injuries. In the absence of any gross negligence or wilful breach of duty by us, your use of the VR RESIST is entirely at your own risk.
  • You are responsible for using the VR RESIST safely and as directed, and you must not use the VR RESIST unless you have read and agree to follow the safety instructions within the user manual. In the absence of gross negligence or wilful breach of duty by us, we are not responsible for your use of the VR RESIST, or any loss or damage to property that may occur in connection to the VR RESIST (including theft, damage, destruction and loss of your property).

 

HEALTH AND SAFETY

Please read and observe the health and safety information. Failure to do so could result in injury or property damage. Adults should supervise the use of this product by children.

2.1 WARNING - General

  • Keep this product and packaging materials away from young children. Packaging items may be swallowed.

2.2 WARNING - Motion Sickness and Repetitive Motion Injuries

  • Avoid excessively long play sessions.
  • Take a break of 10 to 15 minutes every hour, even if you don’t think you need it.
  • Stop playing if you experience any of these
    symptoms:
    • If your hands, wrists, or arms become tired or sore while playing, or if you feel tingling, numbness, burning or stiffness or other discomfort.
  • If any of these symptoms persist, consult a doctor.

2.3 WARNING – Pregnancy and Medical Conditions
Consult a doctor before doing physical activity if:

  • You are pregnant;
  • You suffer from heart, respiratory, back, joint or orthopaedic problems;
  • You have high blood pressure;
  • Your doctor has instructed you to restrict your physical activity;
  • You have any other medical condition that may be aggravated by physical activity

2.4 CAUTION - Wear appropriate clothing

  • The VR RESIST is a fitness product. Please ensure you are wearing appropriate fitness clothing while using it. This will ensure you have an optimal experience while using the product.
  • Failure to use appropriate clothing may result in discomfort and/or injury.

2.5 MOVEMENTS AND SAFETY

  • Please keep the following information in mind at all times while using the VR RESIST to perform fitness activities.
  • When starting out with a new resistance band strength, begin all exercises slowly to ensure the strength is correct.
  • Do not stretch the resistance band in excess of 3 times its unstretched length.

 

WARRANTY 

3.1 Quell Tech Ltd Warranty.
Warranty provider: Quell Tech Ltd, Lincoln House, 1-3 Brixton Road, London. SW96DE.

3.2 Who does this warranty cover?
You, as a customer who has purchased a product either from playquell.com or an authorised retailer.

3.3 What does this warranty cover?
This Warranty covers defects in materials and manufacture of the VR RESIST or any accessories contained in the original packaging. We warrant that the Product will, under normal and intended use, function substantially in accordance with our technical specifications or accompanying product documentation (the “Warranted Functionality”) during the Warranty Period.

3.4 Warranty Period.
This limited warranty continues for one (1) year from the date of purchase or delivery of the product, whichever is later (the “Warranty Period”). However, if you purchase the product from within the EU or EFTA, the Warranty Period shall be two (2) years.

3.5 Not covered under the Warranty:

  • Defects or damage resulting from improper usage, or maintenance, not included in this manual;
  • Use outdoors; exposure to liquids or sunlight; dampness or extreme thermal or environmental conditions or a rapid change in such conditions; corrosion; or oxidation;
  • Deterioration of the cosmetic appearance of the
  • Product or Accessory due to normal wear and tear;
  • Damage caused by dismantling, modification and repair without Quell or service provider authorized by Quell;
  • Damage caused by force majeure such as fire, flood, and lightning;
  • The product has exceeded the valid period of the warranty.
  • Products purchased from sources (including non-authorized online auctions) other than Quell or authorised retailers or resellers;

3.6 How to obtain warranty service:

  1. If you experience a problem with this product, first consult the user manual. If the problem cannot be resolved by reference to these resources, contact Quell customer support or the Distributor from which you purchased the Product or Accessory for assistance. Contact details for Quell’s customer support can be found at playquell.com.
  2. In the event of a perceived malfunction in the Product or Accessory, you should contact Quell customer support with the following information:
    1. Your full address and contact information;
    2. A copy of the original invoice, receipt or bill of sale for the purchase of the product. You must present valid proof of purchase upon making any claims pursuant to this Limited Warranty.
  3. Follow the instructions provided to return the product to us.
  4. We will determine if there is a defect or malfunction covered by this warranty. If we find a defect or malfunction covered by this warranty, we will repair or replace the Product to provide the Warranted Functionality, and we will send the repaired Product or a replacement Product.
  5. Any repaired or replaced product will continue to be covered by this warranty for the remainder of the original Warranty Period or ninety (90) days following your receipt of the replacement or repaired product, whichever is greater.

3.7 GOVERNING LAW
This Limited Warranty will be governed by the law of the country in which the Product and/or Accessories were purchased and the relevant courts of that country will have exclusive jurisdiction in relation to this Limited Warranty.

Notes on resistance bands: 

  1. Your VR RESIST comes with the selected set(s) of resistance bands. Additional resistance bands are available to purchase from Quell directly at playquell.com.
  2. Do not use the VR RESIST with a resistance band stronger than you feel comfortable using.
OPERATING SPACE
  1. Before using the VR RESIST, ensure you are in a location where there is at least 1 metre (around 3.3 feet) between your body (including extended arms / hands) and any other person or objects to avoid causing damage to property, people, or the product.
  2. When using the product in an area with other people, ensure they do not move within your range of motion to avoid injuries or other damage.
  3. Always check the area around you for trip hazards before starting.
SAFETY CHECKS

Before you start:
Every time you set-up the product for use, you must check for imperfections or tears in the resistance bands and other parts of the product.

If you find imperfections or tears in the product, in particular in the resistance bands, do not use the product and contact Quell Customer Support.

SELECT RESISTANCE 
  1. The strength of the resistance band is engraved on the resistance band connector, with Level 1 (“LVL 01”) being the starting level.
  2. Always be careful doing so, and do not use a resistance band set that is not appropriate for you, based on your level of fitness and experience using Quell.
INSERT THE RESISTANCE IN THE BELT
  1. Insert the LEFT G-hook (See Image) in the LEFT loop on the back of the belt.
  2. The G-hook should be inserted into the top opening of the loop and passed completely through the loop.
  3. Repeat points 1. and 2. to insert the RIGHT G-hook into the RIGHT loop on the back of the belt.
  4. Ensure the G-hook is inserted correctly by pulling firmly on it. The G-hook has been inserted correctly if it remains firmly within the loop when pulled.
1. WEAR THE BELT
  1. The belt should always have the hook-and-loop material and the internal pocket on your right side. The logos on the outside of the belt should always be upright.
  2. The belt should always be worn around your upper waist (See Image).
2. WEAR THE BELT
  1. Hold the ends of the belt in your left and right hand, at equal length from the centre of your back. If you have access to a mirror, the rear Quell logo on the belt should land in the middle of the spine.
3. WEAR THE BELT
  1. Wrap the left side of the belt around your upper waist first, and overlay the right side afterwards, ensuring the micro velcro has a good connection to the brushed fabric.
  2. Ensure the fit is tight but note that breathing should not be restricted, since you will be undertaking vigorous exercise. If the belt feels too tight, loosen it by removing it and putting it back on with a looser fit.
1. WEAR THE WRIST STRAPS
  1. Place your thumb through the thumb loop and pull down on the wrist strap so the thumb loop is tight but comfortably fitting.
2. WEAR THE WRIST STRAPS
  1. Hold the end of the wrist strap with micro fabric and insert through a steel loop on the opposite end of the wrist strap.
  2. Pull micro velcro end through the steel loop and back over the length of the wrist strap to secure the micro velcro to the brushed fabric.
CONNECT RESISTANCE - WRIST STRAP
  1. Connect the steel carabiner snap hook (See Image) located on the end of the RIGHT resistance band to the d-ring on the RIGHT wrist strap. The resistance band should be on the inside of your arm.
  2. Ensure the carabiner snap hook is inserted correctly by pulling firmly on it.
  3. Repeat points. 1. and 2. to connect the LEFT resistance with the LEFT wrist strap.
CHECK THE RESISTANCE 
  1. The wrist strap should be secured tightly but comfortably, in order to allow correct movement and dexterity during gameplay, while preventing pain or injury. If the wrist strap feels too tight, loosen it before playing.
  2. Test the resistance bands by extending your arms forward. If the resistance feels too tight or too loose, go back to Step 2 to adjust accordingly. With your arms raised by your head and fists clenched in a guard position, there should be little to no resistance. Resistance should start engaging as soon as you extend your arms (See Image).
MOVEMENTS AND EXERTION
  1. When starting out with a new resistance band strength, begin all exercises slowly to ensure the strength is correct.
  2. Do not stretch the resistance band over 3 times its length.

 

PRODUCT CARE & MISUSE

4.1 Cleaning
The wrist straps and belt should be cleaned when they appear dirty. Ensure that you follow the information on the fabric care labels to avoid damage.


Care should be taken to follow the fabric care information provided on the fabric care label attached to the belt.Failure to follow these instructions may result in damage or degradation to the belt and wrist straps.
 

  • It is recommended to hand wash the garments in the drawstring wash bag provided to protect the garments.
  • It is recommended that the belt and wrist straps are placed in the Quell wash bag ahead of washing.
  • Only machine wash the garments at a maximum of 30 degrees celsius.
  • Do not tumble dry the garments.
  • Do not iron the garments.
  • Do not bleach the garments.
  • Do not dry clean the garments
