How to Duck in Shardfall

Ensure Your Chest Pod is in the correct orientation

The chest pod is used to detect movements of your body. If you are experiencing issues with your duck and un-duck, such as them being the wrong way round or inverted, or not consistently detecting your movements, check the orientation of your chest pod.

The unit should be placed with the logo facing outwards, so the light is not visible through the mesh pocket. Refer to Step 9 of the Getting Started Guide, for more information.

The duck action is most reliably and safely performed with a slight forward tilt of your chest, without arching your back when squatting. Focus on smooth, well-defined movements until you have a feel for them.

Ducking Stopped Working in the Middle of My Session

If you were able to duck, then at some point this stopped working, this is likely caused by a rare fault in the detection of the duck action. This fault is being fixed in an update that is coming soon.

To correct this issue, remove your chest pod from the belt, then reset it by holding the power button and releasing it after 10 seconds. The light will flash white to indicate a restart, then reconnect, showing solid purple. Replace the chest unit and retry the action.
